REQUIRED HOURS

• Producers licensed as Life and Health OR Property and Casualty must take 12 hours of CE including 1 hours of ethics every 2-year license term.

• Producers licensed with a Combined Life and Health AND Property and Casualty Producers must take 24 hours of CE including 2 hour of ethics for each line every 2-year license term.

• Crop only producers are required to complete 2 hours of CE every 2-year license term.

• Title only producers are required to complete 4 hours of CE every 2-year license term.

• Pre-Need only producers are required to complete 2 years of CE every 2-year license term.

• Public Adjusters are required to complete 12 hours of CE including 1 hour of ethics every 2-year license term.

License terms are every 2 years, based on the producer’s date of birth. Licensees who are born in an even year will renew on even years, those born in an odd year will renew on odd years. Public Adjusters license terms are every 2 years, based on the adjuster’s date of birth. Adjusters who are born in an even year will renew on even years, those born in an odd year will renew on odd years. Kansas does not allow excess credit hours to be carried forward into the next license term. A course may not be repeated for credit within a 2-year license term. Courses that are purchased with the same title are considered repeated courses.


CATEGORY RESTRICTIONS

Students must take approved courses in the line of authority which they are licensed in.

• Life and Health OR Property and Casualty producers must complete courses approved only for the line of authority in which they are licensed, including 1 hour of ethics.

• Combined Life and Health AND Property and Casualty producers must complete courses approved for the lines of authority in which they are licensed, including 2 hours of ethics. Producers must take 12 hours in L&H and 12 hours in P&C courses.

• Crop only producers must take courses approved for crop.

• Pre-Need only producers must take courses approved in Life and Health

• Public Adjusters must take courses approved in Property and Casualty, including 1 hour of ethics.

 

SPECIAL TRAINING

• ANNUITY TRAINING - Producers must complete a one-time annuity training course approved for at least 4 hours before they may begin selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products.

• LONG TERM CARE PARTNERSHIP TRAINING - Before a Producer can sell or solicit Long Term Care Insurance they must complete an initial, state approved, 4 hours of Long Term Care Partnership Training. Producers must then complete a 1-hour training requirement every two years thereafter. If a producer satisfies this training requirement in another state, they will be deemed compliant for the Kansas requirement.

• FLOOD INSURANCE TRAINING – Kansas producers licensed in Property and Casualty who sell National Flood Insurance Policies are required to take a 3-hour course on Flood Insurance every renewal cycle.

 

COURSE PRESENTATION

• PROGRESSIVE – Students must progress through the curriculum topic by topic. Students must access all reading content and attempt all Study by Topic quizzes.

• CERTIFICATION EXAM – Students are required to pass the certification exam with a 70% or better.

• STUDY BY TOPIC QUIZZES – ExamFX requires that all Study by Topic quizzes be passed with at least a score of 70%.

• STUDENT ATTESTATION – The student attestation must be completed following the certificate exam.

 

CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION AND REPORTING

Your certificate of completion will be emailed to you within two (2) business days. Completions are reported to state entities within two (2) business days of the certificate having been issued. The state charges $1.00 per credit hour and Sircon charges $1.00 per course in order to report completions. These fees are charged to the student before the certification exam may be accessed.

 

NONRESIDENT PRODUCERS

Nonresident producers who have satisfied the CE requirements in their home state will be deemed compliant with Kansas’ requirement.

Identification of type of certificate to be received upon completion Insurance and securities prelicensing To earn a certificate of completion, score at least 70% on the Simulate Your Exam function after you have completed your studies. Request a certificate of completion from the main menu.

Insurance continuing education
To earn a certificate of completion, pass each chapter quiz with a minimum score of 70% and then pass a proctored certificate exam with a score of 70%.

Total fees required for the course
Fees are displayed prior to purchase during the registration process and are documented on a receipt that is e-mailed after purchase.

Cost of any required books and supplies
These costs are included in the course fees referenced above.

Any other costs and charges
For insurance continuing education courses only, User must pay a state roster filing fee payment of $1 per credit hour as a condition of taking the certificate exam. Otherwise, there are no other mandatory costs. User will be given the option of purchasing supplemental products for insurance and continuing education prelicensing courses. Those costs are listed next to the product title before purchase.

Description of items/services required to be purchased from sources other than the institution User is not required to purchase any items or services from other sources.

Refund policies: Continuing Education
Customers may request a refund within 1 year of the date of registration on the website. A full refund of the purchase price, less any shipping costs, will be issued, provided that no certificates of completion have been issued. Access to online study materials will be terminated upon approval of a refund.

Refunds may be requested by calling ExamFX Support at 800-586-2253 or emailing ExamFX Support at customer.service@examfx.com.

Insurance Prelicensing & Securities
Customers may request a refund within 30 days of the date of registration on the website. A full refund of the purchase price, less any shipping costs, will be issued, provided that the customer has not completed the Simulate Your Exam feature with a minimum score of 70% for any of the materials associated with the registration. Access to online study materials will be terminated upon approval of a refund.

Refunds may be requested by calling ExamFX Support at 800-586-2253 or emailing ExamFX Support at customer.service@examfx.com. Any physical materials included in the purchase must be returned to ExamFX in original, unused condition Refunds will not be issued for any portion of the purchase if physical materials have been torn, marked, highlighted, marred or have any other signs of use. Physical materials must be postmarked within 10 calendar days of the date that the refund is requested and will be subject to a $20.00 restocking fee. Refused shipments are subject to a return fee equal to that of the shipping cost as selected in the original purchase.

ExamFX takes reasonable measures to ensure orders for physical study materials are fulfilled accurately and in a timely manner. Any questions or concerns regarding shipments should be directed to ExamFX Support at 800-586-2253 or customer.service@examfx.com.
Adjusting access fees before completion of the course
Payment must be remitted in full as a condition of accessing ExamFX learning materials. If the price increases during an access period, User will not be required to remit extra payment. If the price decreases, User will not be entitled to a refund of the difference.

Scheduled start date and description of schedule
ExamFX learning materials are self-directed. Online access expires 60 days from the purchase date, at which point User may purchase access for an additional 30-day period. Continuing education access expires 1 year from the date of purchase.

Grounds for termination of access
ExamFX reserves the right to terminate system access of individuals who violate the ExamFX Terms and Conditions, Terms of Use, and any other Agreement between User and ExamFX. Such individuals will not be eligible for a refund.

Method by which User can withdraw
User is under no obligation to complete the learning materials and is not required to notify ExamFX of withdrawal unless a refund is desired.

Statement disclaiming guarantee of employment
ExamFX does not guarantee employment for individuals who use our learning materials. ExamFX does not provide employment placement/referral services.

The state exam testing provider periodically updates its prelicensing exam content outlines. ExamFX updates course materials to reflect the most current outline and reserves the right to update course materials at any time. 6 Requirements for admission:
There are no prerequisites or requirements to register. However, please note that the Kansas Department of Insurance will not issue a producer license to individuals who have not attained the age of 18. Similar limitations exist for the Securities industry. In addition, individuals may not earn continuing education credit until they are licensed.

Insurance producers (agents) represent insurance companies when selling insurance policies to the public. The following ExamFX insurance prelicensing learning materials are designed to help students prepare for the Kansas insurance producer licensing exam: Life, Health, Life & Health, Property, Casualty, and Property & Casualty. We also provide insurance producer continuing education courses that are approved by the Kansas Department of Insurance.

Our Securities learning materials help to prepare individuals for Securities license exams.

Series 6 - Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative - Passing the Series 6 exam is required by the NASD in order for individuals to qualify to sell primary offerings of shares from closed-end companies, mutual funds, unit investment trusts and variable products. Once you pass your Series 6 exam, you will be known as a Registered Representative (RR).

Series 7 - The purpose of the Series 7 exam is to test the degree of competence, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Registered Representative, as well as the knowledge of procedures and regulations in the transactions of general securities in order to protect investors. Series 7 focuses on seven critical functions of Registered Representatives. This exam consists of 250 multiple-choice questions, broken into two sections of 125 questions each. Each section must be completed within 3 hours. A score of 72% is required to pass the exam.

Series 24 - The Series 24 exam qualifies you as a General Securities Principal to manage or supervise the investment banking for corporate securities, direct participation programs, and investment company products and variable contracts for a registered broker-dealer. This exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 3 hours and 30 minutes. A score of 70% is required to pass the exam. Please note that the following are prerequisite licenses for the Series 24: Series 7, Series 17, Series 37, Series 38, Series 62, Series 79 or
Series 82.

Series 26 - The Series 26 exam qualifies you as a Registered Principal for a financial institution in the business of redeemable securities of closed-end funds in initial distributions of securities and variable contracts. The exam consists of 110 multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 2 hours and 30 minutes. A score of 70% is required to pass the exam. Please note that as a required prerequisite for this exam, you must first hold a Series 6 or Series 7 license.

Series 63 - Securities agent - Passing your Series 63 test establishes you as a Securities Agent. In order to protect investors from fraud most states have adopted The Uniform Securities Act. The Series 63 exam was developed by
 
the NASAA to test applicants about their knowledge on this set of laws. By passing this exam, individuals become registered to perform business in these states.

Series 65 - Investment Advisor Representative - This exam is designed to qualify candidates as investment adviser representatives.

Series 66 – Agent and investment adviser - Passing this exam will satisfy the agent (AG) and investment adviser (IA) qualification requirements. The General Securities Representative Exam (Series 7) is a co-requisite to the Series 66 exam.

9 Curriculum (including hours) Prelicensing:
ExamFX prelicensing learning materials cover the topics in the testing provider’s exam content outline. Single line courses are designed to take 20 hours to complete, while combined line courses are designed to take 40 hours to complete. The materials are designed to familiarize you with important concepts that you will see on the licensing exam. After you read the text of a chapter, quiz yourself over the material that you just learned. After you complete all chapters, use the Simulate Your Exam feature. This is a full-length simulated exam that will look and feel like the state exam. Your score sheet will indicate which sections are the most challenging for you. Review those chapters and Simulate Your Exam again.

Our learning materials are self-directed online. You are required to supply your own computer and internet connection.

11 Credit hour transfers and advanced standing examinations:
We do not offer credit hour transfers or advanced standing examinations.

14 Attendance policy:
Study is self-directed. The access period for prelicensing learning materials is 60 days and, for a fee, may be extended for an additional 30-day period. Continuing education course access is valid for 1 year.

In addition, for continuing education courses only, you are required to pay a state roster filing fee ($1 per credit hour) immediately before the proctored certificate exam. If you fail the exam, you will not be required to pay this fee again for subsequent attempts during the same access period. You will pay this fee once per course.

18 Refund and enrollment cancellation policies
You are under no obligation to finish the learning materials for which you are registered. If you decide that you would no longer like to use the system, ExamFX only needs to be notified in the event that you are eligible for a refund and would like to request one. In this case, you may contact ExamFX by calling 800-586-2253.

Continuing Education
