• Alabama licensed Producers are required to take 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of Ethics, every 2-year license term.
• Service Representatives must take 12 hours of CE, including 2 hours of Ethics, every 2-year license term.
Licensees who are born in an even year will renew on even years, those born in an odd year will renew on odd years. Producers cannot take a course more than once within a 2-year license term. The license term ends on the last day of the licensee’s birth month every 2 years. Alabama does not allow excess credits to be carried forward into the next licensing period.
NOTE: Be sure to complete all of your CE credit hours BEFORE submitting your license renewal application.
Category Restrictions
Licensees may take an approved course in any line of authority to obtain their CE credits, but it is recommended that they take courses pertaining to their license type. Title agents and Adjusters may take any course approved for P&C credit.
Special Training
• FLOOD INSURANCE TRAINING - Alabama licensed producers who sell National Flood Insurance Policies are required to take a one-time 3-hour course on Flood Insurance.
• ANNUITY TRAINING - Alabama licensed producers must complete a 4-hour Annuity Best Interest course approved for 4 hours before selling or soliciting any annuity products.
Course Presentation
• STUDY BY TOPIC QUIZZES – ExamFX recommends that all Study by Topic Quizzes are passed with a 70% or better.

Your certificate of completion will be processed within two (2) business days and can be downloaded/printed from the "View Certificate(s)" link in the course launch portal. There is a state charge of $1.00 per credit hour in order to report course completions. This fee will be charged prior to accessing the certificate exam.
Non-Resident Producers
Non-residents who have completed their CE requirement in their home state will be deemed compliant for Alabama’s continuing education requirement.
