Required Hours
Arizona producers are required to take 48 hours of continuing education, 6 of those hours being in Ethics, every 4-year license term.
The renewal date is the last day of your birth month- every 4 years. No carry over credits are allowed and a licensee cannot repeat CE courses for credit.
NOTE: Be sure to complete all of your CE credit hours BEFORE submitting your license renewal application.
Category Restrictions
Licensees may take an approved course in any line of authority to obtain their CE credits, but it is recommended that they take courses pertaining to their license type.
Special Training
β’ LONG-TERM CARE PARTNERSHIP TRAINING - Before a Producer can sell or solicit Long-Term Care Insurance they must be licensed as an Arizona Life and Health Producer. Further, they must complete an initial 8 hours of state approved Long-Term Care Training. Producers must then complete a 4-hour ongoing training requirement every 4-year license term in order to stay in compliance.
β’ FLOOD INSURANCE TRAINING - Arizona licensed producers who sell National Flood Insurance Policies are required to take a one-time 3-hour course on Flood Insurance.
β’ ANNUITY SUITABILITY TRAINING - Arizona licensed producers must complete a state approved 4-hour Annuity Best Interest course before selling, soliciting or negotiating any annuity products. The ExamFX Annuity Suitability Best Interest Standard course satisfies this requirement.
Course Presentation
β’ CERTIFICATE EXAM β Licensees are required to pass the certification exam with a 70% or better.
β’ STUDY BY TOPIC QUIZZES β ExamFX recommends that all Study by Topic Quizzes are passed with a 70% or better.
β’ ATTESTATION β Because the proctor requirement has been eliminated, exam takers should complete the proctor form at the end of the Certificate exam using "No Proctor" as the proctor first/last name and enter their own address and email. The system requires all information to be completed in order to proceed.
Certificates of Completion

β’ If a producer has been continuously licensed in Arizona since 1995 and has never held a non-resident license, they are exempt from the CE requirement.
β’ Non-residents are not required to complete Arizona CE.
