Required Hours

β€’ Producers who hold: Life, Accident/Health, and Variable Annuities; or Life/Variable Annuities are required to take 15 hours of CE every 2-year license term.

β€’ Producers who hold combined licenses of Life & Health and Property & Casualty are required to take 30 hours of CE every 2-year license term OR a total of 15 Bridge-approved courses which apply to license renewal requirements in duplicate.

The license term ends on the producer’s date of birth every 2 years. Licensees who are born in an even year will renew on even years, those born in an odd year will renew on odd years. Public Adjusters renew on December 31 of even numbered years. CE requirements must be completed 60 days prior to the license expiration date.

Excess CE credit hours are NOT allowed to be carried forward into the next licensing term. Producers are not allowed to retake previously completed continuing education courses for credit, regardless of license term. You should maintain records of courses previously taken so you do not repeat any courses.

NOTE: Be sure to complete all of your CE credit hours BEFORE submitting your license renewal application.

Category Restrictions

Producers must take approved courses in the line(s) of insurance they are licensed to sell.

Credit earned from a Bridge Course may be applied to both the renewal requirements for a Life & Health license as well as a Property & Casualty license.

An agent licensed in both Life & Health and Property & Casualty lines of authority may have Bridge Course credit apply to the total renewal requirement of both licenses. They may take only a total of 15 credit hours that are approved as Bridge Courses to satisfy their CE renewal requirements or may take a total of 30 hours of credit, with 15 hours in each line of authority.
