Required Hours

Wyoming requires 24 hours of continuing education, including 3 hours of Ethics, every 2-year license term. The renewal date is the last day of the licensee's birth month, every 2 years. Up to 12 excess CE hours can be carried forward to the next renewal term IF applied within 120 days prior to renewal. All forwarded hours will count as general credit. Courses may not be taken more than once every 48 months.

NOTE: Be sure to complete all of your CE credit hours BEFORE submitting your license renewal application.

Category Restrictions

Students may take approved courses in any line of authority for CE credit, but it is recommended that they take courses pertaining to their license type.

Special Training

• LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE - Before a producer can sell or solicit Long-Term Care Insurance, they must be licensed for Health Insurance and complete an initial 8 hours of state approved Long Term Care Training. Producers must then complete 4-hours of ongoing LTC "refresher" training in subsequent license terms in order to remain in compliance.

• FLOOD INSURANCE TRAINING - Licensed producers who sell National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policies are required to take a one-time 3-hour course on Flood Insurance.

• ANNUITY SUITABILITY TRAINING - Producers must complete a one-time 4-hour state approved annuity suitability training course prior to selling, soliciting or negotiating any annuity products. The ExamFX Annuity Best Interest Standard Training course satisfies this requirement.

Course Presentation

• PROGRESSIVE – Licensees must progress through the curriculum topic by topic.

• CERTIFICATE EXAM – Licensees are required to pass the certificate exam with a 70% or better. Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party (a person with no family or financial relationship) who certifies that the licensee completed the exam without outside assistance.

• STUDY BY TOPIC QUIZZES – ExamFX requires that all Study by Topic quizzes be completed.

• LICENSEE AND PROCTOR ATTESTATION – The licensee and proctor attestation must be completed following the certificate exam.

Certificates of Completion

Your certificate of completion will be processed within two (2) business days and can be downloaded/printed from the "View Certificate(s)" link in the course launch portal. Completions are normally reported within two (2) business days of the certificate having been issued. There is a state charge of $1.25 per credit hour in order to report completions. This fee will be charged prior to accessing the certificate exam.

Non-Resident Producers

A licensee who does not hold a Wyoming resident license only has to comply with the CE requirements of their home state.

CE Exemptions

The following are exempt from Wyoming CE requirements:

• Producers who hold a limited producers license.

• Individuals licensed for credit life and credit disability.

• Individuals licensed for funeral service contracts.

• Non-resident producers.

License Renewal

Producers can renew their license online at SIRCON. Licenses may be renewed up to 90 days prior to the respective expiration date.
