ExamFX does not currently offer any continuing education courses in the state of Washington.
Required Hours
Producers in Washington are required to take 24 hours of Continuing Education, including 3 hours of Ethics, every 2 years. License renewal is the last day of the licensee's birth month. No carry over credits are allowed and a student cannot take a course more than once within each renewal period.
NOTE: Course numbers for Long-Term Care and Annuity Suitability courses are the same for all providers. The initial 8-hour LTC course and annuity training course will be considered duplicates if repeated within the 2-year period. The 4-hour LTC course is exempt from the repetition rule.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to complete all of your CE credit hours BEFORE submitting your license renewal application.
Category Restrictions
Students may take an approved course in any line of authority to obtain their CE credits, but it is recommended that they take courses pertaining to their license type.
Special Training
• LONG-TERM CARE TRAINING – Producers must complete an initial, state approved 8-hour Long-Term Care Training course before they can sell or solicit Long-Term Care Insurance. Producers must then complete a 4-hour ongoing LTC training requirement every 24 months from the date the initial 8-hour training was completed in order to stay in compliance.
• FLOOD INSURANCE TRAINING – Washington Property/Casualty and Personal Lines producers who sell National Flood Insurance policies must take a one-time 3-hour course on NFIP Flood Insurance Certification Training.
Course Presentation
• CERTIFICATE EXAM – Licensees are required to pass the certificate exam with a 70% or better.
• STUDY BY TOPIC QUIZZES – ExamFX recommends that all Study by Topic quizzes be attempted and passed with at least a score of 70%.
CE Exemptions
• Non-residents except for the LTC and Annuity Suitability Certificate requirements.
• Individuals holding limited licenses for credit life and disability, credit casualty, travel, vehicle and surety licenses
License Renewal
Once CE requirements have been met producers can renew their license online at Sircon.
