OKLAHOMA INSURANCE PRELICENSING INFORMATION

Oklahoma does not require licensing candidates to complete prelicensing education; however, ExamFX highly recommends that you complete an educational course before attempting to take your state’s licensing exam.

WHAT’S IN MY COURSE?

Navigate to ExamFX’s home page and select the line of authority you’re interested in to learn more about our comprehensive insurance training packages.

DON'T FORGET YOUR GUARANTEE EXAM!

ExamFX is so confident in the quality of its material that we offer our customers a first-time pass guarantee. If you don’t pass the first time around, we will refund your money. To qualify for this offer, you must pass our Guarantee Exam with a score of 80% to determine maximum exam readiness. While completing this portion of your online course is not required, we highly recommend taking this extra step.

HOW DO I GET MY LICENSE?

Please note that the Oklahoma Department of Insurance has selected a new testing provider for their state insurance exams. Beginning February 16, 2023, PSI will be the testing provider for Oklahoma insurance exams (www.psiexams.com).

Step 1 (optional): Complete an optional prelicensing course that helps prepare you to take and pass your licensing exam.

Step 2: Schedule your exam with your state’s testing provider, PSI. Registration can be completed most efficiently by signing up online at PSI. You may also schedule over the phone at (800) 733-9267. Your exam may be taken at a physical PSI examination center or via a remote online proctored exam. Exam fees must be paid at the time of reservation.

To cancel your exam, you must contact PSI Exams at least two days in advance or forfeit your registration fee.

Step 3: Take and pass your state licensing exam. On the day of your appointment you must bring with you a valid form of government issued identification (driver’s license, passport, military I.D., etc.) which must contain a photograph. You will not be able to take your exam if these requirements are not met.

NOTE: Candidates taking a remotely proctored exam must select to end both the exam portion and survey portion of the test in order to receive your on-screen results and emailed score report. Security measures are taken for all testing methods. Restrictions on what you may bring with you to the testing center, into the testing room, and what you may wear will be enforced. For more detailed information about the security measures that will be taken during your testing appointment, please read and review the candidate bulletin offered at PSI.

Step 4: Apply for your license via NIPR at www.nipr.com or send the license application form and other required materials to the Oklahoma Department of Insurance. Forms and more information can be found at the Department’s Licensing webpage at https://www.ok.gov/oid/Licensing_and_Education/index.html

Step 5: Maintain your license by being aware of your continuing education requirements. Most insurance licenses must be maintained by completing a certain number of credit hours of continuing education each licensing period. ExamFX offers continuing education courses that will help you comply with your state’s requirements. Click here to view your state’s education rules and stay on top of your license.
