Continuing Education Proctor & Certification Process Changes Due to COVID-19

There have been changes to certain state's continuing education (CE) proctor and attestation process and to ExamFX's certificate process. Continue reading for more information.

For Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, and South Carolina:

Your state's Department of Insurance (DOI) has temporarily waived the requirement for the continuing education certificate exam to be proctored. 

After you take your CE certificate exam and are completing your proctor's information, please enter the following: 

Proctor First Name:  No 
Proctor Last Name:  Proctor 

During this temporary process change, you will need to complete all other questions regarding your proctor (address, email, etc.) using your own personal information. The system requires all fields to be completed in order to proceed.



For New York:

The New York Department of Financial Services has temporarily waived the requirement for the continuing education certificate exam to be proctored. 

After you take your CE certificate exam and are completing your proctor's information, please enter the following: 

Proctor First Name:  No 
Proctor Last Name:  Proctor
Monitor Number:     NYMO-507718

During this temporary process change, you will need to complete all other questions regarding your proctor (address, email, etc.) using your own personal information. The system requires all fields to be completed in order to proceed.



For Massachusetts, Michigan, Vermont, and Wisconsin:

Your state's Department of Insurance (DOI) has temporarily waived the requirement for the certificate exam to be proctored.    

After you take your CE certificate exam and are completing your proctor's information, please enter the following:  

Proctor First Name:  No 
Proctor Last Name:  Proctor 

During this temporary process change, you will need to complete all other questions regarding your proctor (address, email, etc.) using your own personal information. The system requires all fields to be completed in order to proceed.

Once you have passed your certificate exam, an attestation will be emailed to you. Please return the completed attestation to [email protected]  Your course completion cannot be reported until the attestation of personal responsibility is returned to ExamFX.



For Connecticut, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, and West Virginia:

Your state's Department of Insurance (DOI) is temporarily allowing remote/virtual proctoring for the certificate exam.

For Washington D.C.:

The District of Columbia Department of Insurance is temporarily waiving the disinterested third party proctor requirement and is now allowing family members to proctor for continuing education certificate exams.

For Pennsylvania:

Effective immediately and until further notice, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department has decided that the use of proctors in a face-to-face setting is prohibited. Virtual proctors will be permitted or if a virtual proctor is not feasible, the proctor requirement will be eliminated for all approved online courses.

After you take your CE certificate exam and are completing your proctor's information, please enter the following:

Proctor First Name: No
Proctor Last Name: Proctor
