California CE Ethics February 2023

Effective March 1, 2023, licensed California insurance producers must complete 1 hour of Anti-Fraud Awareness Training as part of the 3-hour Ethics continuing education requirement.

If licensees are currently enrolled in one of the following ExamFX courses, we recommend they complete their course prior to February 28, 2023:

>  ETHICS AND INSURANCE: HOW TO SELL ETHICALLY AND COMPLY WITH THE LAW (#277908)

>  ETHICAL PRACTICES: AVOIDING E&O CLAIMS (#281230)

>  ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING (#327050)

>  FRONT LINE FRAUD PREVENTION (#383622)


After February 28, 2023, when licensees complete their ExamFX course, they will also be required to complete anti-fraud awareness training. This training is not included in the ExamFX Ethics courses. ExamFX recommends licensees use the California Insurance Department Agent and Broker Anti-Fraud Training to meet this requirement. 


The California Insurance Department provides a free anti-fraud awareness training course here: Agent and Broker Anti-Fraud Training. After completing the Department’s course, the individual must complete the Department’s Certificate of Attendance and email it to [email protected] in order to receive 1 hour of ethics/continuing education credit.
