Massachusetts Testing Provider Change: July 2026

The state of Massachusetts is changing its insurance exam testing provider from Prometric to Pearson VUE, effective 7/22/2026. ExamFX courses and exams will be restructured to match the new provider’s outlines and exam format.

Here's what learners in MA need to know:

1. Scheduling with Pearson opens July 6 for exam appointments starting July 22. Please review the Candidate Handbook for additional information: MA Division of Insurance Candidate Handbook
2. There will be a testing blackout period for all exams from July 17-21. Candidates testing on or before July 16 should continue to schedule their exams through Prometric.
3. If you are taking your state exam on or after July 22, review the Addendum available in the Resource Center of your online course.
4. If you are taking your state exam before or on July 16, you only need the information included in your online course (you do not need the separate Addendum).
