You can find information regarding your exam and how to enroll for your exam at FINRA’s website.

Different regulators, FINRA, NASAA, MSRB, and NFA, maintain different exams. FINRA conveniently lists all these exams on its site. These include exams maintained by FINRA, NASAA, MSRB, and NFA. You can also find information about these exams on each regulator’s website. 

Where can I get information about Testing Sites? 

• Prometric administers these exams. Go to the Prometric website to search for site locations.

Illinois candidates must take the Illinois Virtual Training per state prelicensing regulation, in addition to the online requirements.

Candidates will have 1 year from the date of enrollment to meet all requirements. After initial course access period, users have the option to purchase a course extension.

If a candidate has not attended the Virtual Training successfully and completed the online coursework within one year, a new enrollment will be needed and all requirements will be reset.

1. Log in the Elite Analytics manager tracking dashboard.

3. Click the "Subscribe" button found in the upper right hand corner of the Candidate Detail Report.
4. Select a daily or weekly cadence. Add any additional email addresses who should receive this report.

Users who have purchased an ExamFX Securities Course have the option to upgrade to a higher package level. Upgrades from a lesser package to a higher-cost package are available at the cost difference between the two packages.  

• Upgrades are only available within a corresponding course, not applicable to other courses, and are nontransferable. 
• Upgrade pricing is only available during an active registration of the initial item purchased or for up to 30 days after the registration has expired. No upgrades will be granted after 30 days past the original registration expiration date.
• Customers who upgrade are entitled to the full use period of the new product(s) from the date of the upgrade, subject to the current license agreement and policies of the upgrade product. 
• ExamFX securities refund policies apply to all upgrades and are applicable to the purchase price of the upgrade product only.

Insurance Courses 

ExamFX insurance courses have 60 days of access from the date of registration. Some organizations have a different access periods. The package name will indicate the access period if different from the 60 days. Customers have the option to purchase course extensions.

Continuing Education Courses 

Access period extensions are not available for Continuing Education Courses. Continuing Education Courses come with 365 days of access from date of registration. 

Securities Courses 

Course access periods are from date of purchase according to the package purchased as follows: 

• Online Course: 180 days  
• Online Core Course: 90 days  
• Exam Center: 90 days  
• Textbook Package: 90 days 

ExamFX courses prevent the ability to copy and paste the material to protect our intellectual property.  

ExamFX customers can purchase printed add-ons during registration or by calling ExamFX Customer Support at or after registration.

Users must have an active online course to order printed items. ExamFX printed materials include:

Securities Courses 

ExamFX Securities Courses will not issue a Certificate of Completion. 

ExamFX offers a limited number of expedited Certificate of Completion requests for our customers each day for a $50 fee.

To be eligible to receive an expedited Certificate of Completion, all state requirements must be met and required forms completed. Please note: state requirements are subject to change. 

To request an expedited certificate:

• Call ExamFX Customer Support at 1.800.586.2253 between 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM Central Standard Time, Monday – Friday (excluding holidays and/or office closures).
• At that time ExamFX will confirm customer eligibility and payment.
• ExamFX will make every attempt to process the Certificate of Completion within 2 hours. Requests received after 3:00 PM Central Standard Time will be processed the following business day. 

Please note expedited Certificate of Completions is offered on a limited basis and will be processed in the order received. Because of limited availability and processing time, requests for expedited Certificate of Completion are not guaranteed and ExamFX reserves the right to refund processing fees if we are unable to fulfill.  

• Once you have met the requirements to earn the Certificate of Completion, download and print a copy of the certificate and take it to the State Licensing Exam.
  • To see if your state requires a certificate, review your state's requirements here.
• Log in to your course but do not launch the course.
• Click "View Certificates" to see the available certificates.
• Click the download button (a downfacing arrow icon) to save a copy on your device.  
• Please note users must have Adobe installed on their device to download the Certificate of Completion. Adobe is a Free Download if you need to install it on your device.  

Yes, if you live in a certificate requirement state you must complete your required prelicensing education and obtain a Certificate of Completion before taking the state exam. 

For each ExamFX course you can earn one Certificate of Completion per line of authority.

Certificates of Completion have expiration dates.

If your Certificate of Completion expires, you will have to purchase and complete your state’s requirements in a new course.

To be eligible for a Certificate of Completion, users need to meet all requirements. If you are in a state that requires a certificate, please review the Certificate Requirements tab inside your course for detailed information on how to earn your Certificate of Completion. Please note some states require ExamFX to manually review and approve the Certificate of Completion. In those states the certificate will be available within 2 business days after meeting all the requirements 

States subject to the 2-business day waiting period are CO, MN, MS, NC, WI, IL. If you require your certificate sooner, please see your expedite options on this FAQ page.

For all other states, the certificate will be available immediately after meeting requirements.

If your Certificate of Completion needs a minor information correction, for example:

• First name spelling
• An inverted number in your date of birth
• Etc.

Within 30-days of the certificate generating, contact ExamFX Customer Support at 1-800-586-2253.

Corrections needed beyond 30 days requires a new course and a new issued Certificate of Completion.

• ExamFX courses have an inactivity timer for security and compliance reasons. If a user is not actively engaged in studying the course will log them out.  
• If a user attempts to access the course in more than one internet browser or device at the same time, the user will be logged off the original session. 
• If a user navigates away from the Certificate Exam or Readiness Exam Tab while an exam is in progress, the exam will be submitted and the user will not be able to resume the exam regardless of if they were finished.  
• Navigating to another browser tab will end the exam. 
• Quizzes and Practice Exams can be paused and resumed.

Passwords must be minimum of 8 characters in length and include these minimum requirements:

• 1 upper case letter (ABC)
• 1 lower case letter (abc)
• 1 symbol or special character (!@#$%^&*)
• 1 number (0-9)

Password length within the course has a different character limit than the login screen password.

Passwords within the course must be between 8-12 digits to work in the course. 

We built this program to teach the material from the ground up, so individuals without any background and education can be successful on these regulatory exams. We have also created on-demand lectures. Just like a live class, a person walks you through the material and gives extra examples to help with challenging concepts.    

How do I approach the material?  

• Listen to the lectures just like you're attending a live class. Set aside dedicated study time, and make sure to have your book, a pen, and notepad handy.    
• Go through the lectures in order when you go through the content for the first time, as laid out on the study page. Certain concepts will build upon each other as you progress through the material.  
• Repeat any parts of the lecture that you find challenging or where you may have “zoned-out.”   
• Take Notes! Make sure to put the material in your own words to help increase retention.     
• Create Flashcards (Or use the ones provided in your course).       
• Review the content and make sure you are feeling comfortable with the material. Remember, the key to passing licensing exams is to know and understand the material in the book. 

How do I approach the Practice Question Set? 

• Complete the chapter lecture. 
• Re-read the book and any notes.
• Clarify any questions you might have about the material.
• Review your notes and flashcards.  
• Take the Chapter Exam in a distraction-free area. 
• Attain green light scores on the Chapter Tests before moving on. Much of the content builds upon itself, so moving forward without remediating low scores will compound the problem. 
• It is okay not to get the Green Light on your first attempt, but make sure you are going back to the lecture and book to increase your product knowledge before you re-take the exam. Again, make sure to achieve the Green Light before moving to the next chapter.   

How many times can I take a Chapter Exam?   

• Generally, we expect students will receive a Green Light on the first or second attempt on the Chapter Exams.
• If a student takes a chapter exam 5+ times, there might be an issue with the study approach. There are likely some ways we suggest a change in study habits.
• Instead of spending so much time on the exams, we recommend modifying study approach by devoting more time to the material.
• ExamFX is happy to give suggestions on different ways to approach the material to make sure you are going into each Chapter Exam like it is the actual exam.
• You can take a Chapter Exam “unlimited” times, but we recommend spending  more time focusing on the material than on taking and re-taking exams.
• DO NOT TEST REPEATEDLY - Remember that the actual test bank is large, and regulators continually add new questions to it without notifying anyone. It is critical to learn and understand the information, so you can apply this information to any questions on the exam.   

Step 1:

• Take Final 1. Spend time reviewing the entire exam. Get used to the wording of questions, and the detail of the exam questions. Also, spend extra time with your incorrect questions.
  

Step 2:

• Choose 3-5 chapters that show up as yellow or red and go back to review those chapters since those are the chapters that are causing you damage.
• Align it with the most heavily tested areas (areas with the most questions). Go back to both the lecture and the book to increase your product knowledge in these chapters.
• Then review or re-take the Chapter Exam.
  

Step 3:

• Take Final 2 and repeat!

• Your course is continually updated to reflect the most up-to-date rules and regulations. You can find any updates in course lectures under “Update Points”. FINRA or other SROs can make updates to test questions or regulations on any business day. To get the information to students the quickest, we put new information in the section within your course called "Update Points."

• We would recommend to review "Update Points" and mark all additions and changes in your book. Then when you come across the note, you know when to reference the "Update Points" slide.

Recommended Study Steps

Chapters

• Study the chapters in the course in the order presented. It is important to note that all of the information presented is potentially testable. Give yourself enough time to build a solid foundation of concepts.
• Read for comprehension, not speed (at least 1-2 hours per chapter).
• Take notes and pay attention to “Know This!” Markers.
• Watch chapter videos and practice with Flash Cards, if available.
• Review Chapter Recaps and study Key Facts.

Chapter Quizzes

• Take and pass each Chapter Quiz 2-3 consecutive times. Once you have successfully passed 2-3 quizzes, you should feel confident moving to the next chapter.
• Review missed questions.
• Review course material between quiz attempts as needed.

Practice Exam

• After studying all of the chapters and passing the Chapter Quizzes, it is recommended to take and pass the Practice Exam 2-3 consecutive times with scores close to or above 80%.
• Review missed questions and the score report.
• Review course material and, if available, complete a Focused Exam between exam attempts.

The Practice Exam is available in two modes:

• Learning Mode: correct answers and explanations displayed after each question. Take the exam in Learning Mode to practice and reinforce your knowledge.
• Exam Mode: correct answers and explanations for missed questions provided at the end of the exam. Take the exam in Exam Mode to test your knowledge.

Readiness Exam

• The Readiness Exam will be available after you passing the Practice Exam with 70% or higher.
• The Readiness Exam is the final check to determine if you are ready to pass your state licensing exam.
• You only have two attempts for this exam.
• We recommend you take your second Readiness Exam 2-3 days before your state exam.
• Review the score report and course materials as needed.

Videos and Flash Cards are supplementary study tools that will help reinforce your learning and ensure exam success.

These added features are not state specific; however, they cover broad insurance concepts that are universally testable and are important for you to understand for your exam. 

Chapter Quizzes

• Unlimited attempts.

Practice Exams

• Unlimited attempts. 
• If a learner fails 5 Practice Exam/Focused Exams in a row, they will be put in a 24-hour HOLD for Practice Exams.
  • 5 fail count is regardless of time.
• HOLD cannot be overridden or removed.
• Passing a Practice Exam resets the fail count to 0.

Certificate Exam (where applicable in certificate required states)

• Can take as many times as needed to pass.
• Once passing attempt recorded, additional attempts will be locked.
• Navigating away from the tab where you're taking the exam will result in a submission of the exam and it will not be able to resumed.

The Readiness Exam

• Limited to 2 attempts and cannot be reset or overridden.
• Navigating away from the tab where you're taking the exam will result in an exam submission and it will not be able to resumed. The user will not be granted additional attempts.

• You will receive confirmation and reminder emails 1 day before and 1 hour before the Live Online Training starts. The emails will contain the meeting link needed to join the Live Online Training. 

• Your ExamFX course must be active in order to attend the Live Online Training.

• If you have any issues logging into the session please contact ExamFX Customer Support.

If you purchased the Live Online Study Package as a part of your Insurance Course and need to reschedule your Live Online Training, follow the steps below.

• You will receive confirmation and reminder emails 1 day before and 1 hour before the Live Online Training starts. The emails will contain the meeting link needed to join the Live Online Training. 

• Your ExamFX course must be active in order to attend the Live Online Training.

• Select "Extend Course Access" button under the course you want to extend.
  
• Follow the prompts on the screen to complete your purchase.

ExamFX insurance courses have an access period of 60 days from date of registration. Some access periods may differ by organization. Access periods that differ from the standard 60 day period will be noted in the package name at the time of registration. 

Total course access cannot exceed 1 year from the date of registration. Extensions that exceed 1 year from date of registration will not be possible.

Applicable to Securities Courses purchased on or after May 1, 2024

Candidates registered for the ExamFX Online Course and Core Course Packages have the option to purchase a course renewal by calling Customer Support at 1-800-339-3345. 

• Please note, courses purchased with the Exam Center Package cannot be renewed.  
• Renewals are discounted at 50% off retail price. 
• Renewal is available up to 6 months after the course expires, after that time a new course registration will be required.
• Renewal will add 6 months of access to the course.

If you are trying to extend your Insurance Course and receive an error message that your course if not eligible for extension, there may be a few reasons:

1. Your Certificate of Completion has expired.  

• Some Certificates of Completions expire. When a certificate expires, the course is automatically deactivated and a new course registration is required. 

2. Your course is over 1 year old or less than 30 days from the 1-year mark. 

• ExamFX Insurance Courses are accessible for 1 year from the date of registration with paid extensions beyond the initial course access period. See ExamFX Terms and Conditions. 
• A new registration will be required. 

3. You have paid for an extension that is still active.  

• In this scenario, you will be able to purchase the course extension the day after your course expires without losing any of your progress.

• Refund must be requested within 60 days of purchase. 

• Customer has not completed and passed the Practice Exam with 70% or higher. 

• All physical materials must be returned to ExamFX in original, unused condition. 

• Returns must be postmarked within 10 calendar days of the refund request date. 

To qualify for the Insurance Pass Guarantee users must: 

• Pass the Practice Exam with a 70% or higher to open the Readiness Exam.
• Pass the Readiness Exam with an 80% or higher. The Readiness Exam is limited to two attempts per line of authority and cannot be reset or overridden. 
• Take Licensing Exam within 3 calendar days of passing the Readiness Exam. 
• Submit the Licensing Exam score sheet to the ExamFX Customer Support team within 30 days of completing the Licensing Exam.Request a refund by completing this form.

Please note: 

• The Pass Guarantee only applies to Insurance Prelicensing Courses. 
• The Pass Guarantee only applies to the candidate’s first attempt to pass the licensing exam; subsequent attempts do not qualify. 
• Refunds are only provided for candidate paid packages; refunds will not be provided for company-paid packages.

• Refunds include the original purchase price of the study package (excludes renewals and shipping costs).

• Refunds are processed within two business days to the card originally used for purchase.
