Learners who purchased securities products before May 1, 2024 have 90 days, or until July 30, 2024, to complete their coursework. 

Renewals and extensions are not available for ExamFX securities courses purchased before May 1, 2024.

Securities courses (purchased on or after May 1, 2024)

Customers may request a refund (less shipping) within 30 days of purchase. Customers may request a refund by contacting ExamFX at 800-339-3445 or by completing this form.

In order to be eligible for a refund the following conditions apply:  

• The course has not been accessed. Any course usage disqualifies a course from refund eligibility.
• Books must be returned within 30 days of purchase. Pre-paid return label will be provided if applicable to product ordered.
• No refund will be processed outside of 30 days.

Refunds will not be granted for failure to complete study materials. Access to online study materials will be terminated upon refund approval. Course extensions are non-refundable.

The California Department of Insurance requires ExamFX to periodically verify your identity as you take the course. As a condition of opening a chapter quiz, you must enter the password that you use to log in to the course. This does not apply to ExamSImulator students.

ExamFX courses identified as “Health” apply to all states for that general line of authority. Individual states may formally refer to that line of authority and the state exam as “Accident & Health,” “Accident, Health or Sickness,” “Disability Insurance,” or similar.

The best source is the Candidate Handbook or Information Bulletin from the testing provider in your state. You have access to the provider’s website from the ExamFX Home Page: click on Insurance, select your line of authority (Life and Health or Property and Casualty), then click on State-specific Requirements. Videos and Flash Cards are supplementary study tools that will help reinforce your learning and ensure exam success. These added features are not state specific; however, they cover broad insurance concepts that are universally testable and are important for you to understand for your exam.

We recommend that you pass 2-3 consecutive quizzes for each chapter before continuing to the next chapter. Achieving passing scores consistently demonstrates your proficiency in a wide range of topics presented in each chapter. If you are unable to achieve a passing score on a quiz, review the chapter and study with additional study tools before attempting another quiz.

We recommend that you pass the practice exams 3 to 5 times to confirm your exam readiness. Scoring over 80% gives you the best chance of passing the state exam on the first try. Complete a Focused Review after each exam attempt – remediation is key! Allow yourself time to review the material between exam attempts: This will help you master the material faster and produce better exam scores.

A Focused Review becomes available as soon as you complete a practice exam. It’s a detailed analysis of your exam that shows your strong and weak areas. It breaks down your exam results by specific topics you were tested on and tells you if you’ve mastered the material in each section. The Focused Review feature points you directly to the sections of the course where additional study is recommended. Complete a Focused Review after each exam attempt to ensure you’re reviewing the content on which you need additional study.

Yes. If your course is still active, you should continue your studies until the date of the state exam. Key Facts, Flash Cards, and OnDemand Video Lectures are excellent study tools that will help you keep the material fresh in your memory until your state exam. It is important to note that these study tools are meant to supplement, not replace, your course content.

Because certification exams qualify students to take their real exams, we are prevented by state regulations from sharing correct answers to certification exams. This also helps us ensure that every student is given a fair chance at passing their certification exams.

ExamFX is so confident in our training program that we guarantee users who successfully complete the Guarantee Exam will pass their licensing exam on their first attempt! ExamFX is pleased to offer a limited number of expedited certificate of completion requests for our customers each day for a $50 fee. To be eligible to receive an expedited certificate of completion, all state requirements must be met and required forms completed; please note, state requirements are subject to change.

To request an expedited certificate, customers will need to call our customer service team at 1.800.586.2253 between 8:00AM - 3:00PM CST, Monday – Friday (excluding holidays and/or office closures). At that time ExamFX will confirm customer eligibility and payment. ExamFX will make every attempt to process the certificate of completion within two hours. Requests received after 3:00PM CST will be processed the following business day.

Please note expedited certificate of completions are offered on a limited basis and will be processed in the order received. Because of limited availability and processing time, requests for expedited certificate of completion are not guaranteed and ExamFX reserves the right to refund processing fees if we are unable to fulfill.

No. You can only earn a Certificate from a course once with the purchase of a CE course or library, even if you enter a new license renewal period and your state allows course repetition. Most states prohibit course repetition within the same licensing period. Please see your state’s insurance continuing education requirement page for additional certificate information. Yes, if you live in a certificate requirement state you must complete your required prelicensing education and obtain a Certificate of Completion before taking the state exam. For each ExamFX course you can earn one Certificate of Completion per line of authority. Certificate of Completions have expiration dates. If your Certificate of Completion expires, you will have to purchase and complete your state’s requirements in a new course. Please see your state’s insurance prelicensing requirement page for additional certificate information.

While we do not offer one-on-one, in-person tutoring, you have other resources available to you. Contact our ExamFX instructors directly with any course material or exam question by completing this form. You also have an option to upgrade to a Live Online Training package and take advantage of a virtual classroom experience.

You only get two attempts at the Readiness Exam, so give yourself enough time to complete each one. This exam is specifically designed to be taken a limited number of times to prevent question memorization, which is why we cannot reset Readiness Exam attempts. Readiness Exams contain new questions the students haven’t seen, and serve as reliable indicators of readiness to pass the state exam. Take this exam 3 days before your state exam to qualify for our Pass Guarantee.

Once you select an answer to a question, the next screen automatically highlights only the correct answer (the one that should have been chosen), along with the rationale that explains it. You are graded based on your original choice as correct or incorrect. If you chose a wrong answer, you will not see it – we don’t want students to inadvertently memorize incorrect information. Instead, we want students to focus on the right answer and the explanation. Because chapter quizzes are presented in learning mode, you still have plenty of opportunity to practice.

You may utilize Exam Mode as many times as you would like, but an excessive number of exam attempts does not typically result in an increased chance of passing your state exam. If you are unable to pass the practice exam after several attempts, go back and review the course and study with additional study tools before attempting another practice exam. If you are starting to recognize exam questions and answering them from memory, you are no longer testing your material understanding. We recommend using alternative assessment tools available in the course, such as Flash Cards and the Readiness Exam (see below for more information regarding Readiness Exams; it is important to note that students are limited to two Readiness Exam attempts).

No! The state exam questions will be worded differently than those on your practice exams. However, our Exam Mode follows all of the same guidelines as the state exam, so your practice exams will be worded similarly, will have the same number of questions per topic, and overall, will test you on all of the same content areas as the state exam. It is important for you to know the material to be able to apply what you’ve learned to any questions on the state exam.

Products Refund Policies

All insurance courses are eligible for coverage under the pass guarantee. 

To qualify you must pass the Readiness Exam with an 80% or higher within three days prior to your licensing exam and not pass your licensing exam on your first attempt. The Pass Guarantee only applies to the candidates first attempt to pass the licensing exam; subsequent attempts do not qualify.

All insurance courses are eligible for coverage under the pass guarantee. 

• Refunds are only provided for candidate paid packages; refunds will not be provided for company-paid packages.
• Refunds include the original purchase price of the study package (excludes renewals and shipping costs).
• Refunds must be verified by submitting licensing score sheets to Customer Support. Request a refund by completing this form.
• Refunds are processed within two business days to the card originally used for purchase.

Our courses are designed to prepare you for your insurance producer or registered representative licensing exam. In general, the name of the course will correspond with the name of the license that you are trying to obtain. We highly encourage you to speak with your employer or the appropriate regulatory agency to determine which course would be most appropriate for your licensing goals.

Before selecting a training package it is recommended to understand your state's specific exam and licensing requirements first.

• Read the chapter and then take the End of Chapter quiz. Use the “Review Content” button to see a detailed explanation of the correct answer. If you are an ExamSimulator customer, you will just take the Chapter Quizzes.
• If you pass the quiz, move on to the next chapter.
• If you do not pass the quiz, go back to the chapter and review the material you missed.
• After you have read the entire course, and passed all the chapter quizzes, test in Exam Mode. When finished, review your score sheet to identify weak areas.
• Go back and review the chapters you scored lowest on the practice exam. Use Focused Review to improve your understanding and retention of the material. Test again in Exam Mode.
• If required in your state, take the certificate exam to qualify for your certificate of completion.
• When you are ready, take the Readiness Exam within 3 days of your state insurance exam or FINRA/NASAA securities exam. Limit of 2 times on this one! Make sure you review your score sheet, and once again, return to the reading material to review the topics that need improvement.
• Students completing an ExamFX course to satisfy a regulatory requirement should also read completely through the course instructions provided during enrollment. (ExamSimulator may not be used to satisfy a regulatory requirement.)

No, although we design our material from the outlines provided to us by each state and the testing provider, the questions we develop will NOT be the same ones you see on the actual exam. This is why it is so important that you study and understand the material. The concepts in the course are the same as what will be tested; however, the wording will likely be different.

If you have specific questions about your course material, contact our ExamFX instructors directly by completing this form and your question will be answered within 2 business days or as required by your state. If, for some reason, you do not pass your state exam on the first try, contact the instructors to seek guidance on how to best prepare for a retest.

Several states require students to spend a minimum amount of time studying the course as a condition of earning a certificate of completion. Time spent in the reading material and chapter quizzes will add time toward completing your course requirement. Depending on your state, there may be more detailed requirements as to where the time in the course has to be logged. You can confirm the requirements in your state by viewing the “Important Licensing Document” that is available by pressing the “Click for Important Documents” button on the Verify Information page when you login. You can check the amount of time that has been logged on your course by clicking the “Get Certificate” link that is available at the bottom of the Main Menu page after launching the course. The “Get Certificate” link will display your progress toward completing the various requirements in your state for pre-licensing. ExamSimulator students are not required to log time in the course.

The Focused Exam is located within the Focused Review feature. It only becomes available once you have completed in Exam Mode with a score above 40% and below the passing score. After you complete a Focused Review for remediation, click on “Take Focused Exam” to launch the exam.

The Focused Exam is created through a smart algorithm within our learning platform that pulls questions related only to the topics that you missed when in Exam Mode. Its goal is to drive focus to topics you’ve performed weaker on to improve subsequent Exam Mode scores. Note that the Focused Exam does not pull “missed questions” from Exam Mode; it pulls new questions from the topics of study that were missed. This makes the Focused Exam a great tool for remediation instead of memorization.

The number of questions will vary based on your performance on the corresponding Exam Mode, but in general, a Focused Exam would be a lot shorter than a regular practice exam.

You can take only one Focused Exam for each Exam Mode attempt.

You have either scored below 40% on your Exam Mode attempt or have passed in Exam Mode and therefore, would not benefit from a Focused Exam.

You do not have to take a Focused Exam’ it is an optional remediation tool.

No. Focused Exam is not a qualifying exam for your certificate of completion.

Once you complete the Focused Exam, you will receive a numeric score sheet showing you the topic names, number of questions asked, and scores obtained. You will also be able to review missed questions, and complete a focused review based on your Focused Exam results.

Yes, time spent within your course taking Exams and remediating in the Focused Review will be applied towards time requirements in applicable states.

The online flash cards are presented in an application that is accessible on the main menu page. Flash cards are not printable. They function in a similar manner to paper flash cards, but unlike paper flash cards, they are immediately available after ordering and do not have to be shipped physically. Print Flash Cards are available to order.

Exam Mode provides you with excellent practice prior to your state exam. You should take the chapter quizzes and Exam Mode a few times to make sure you are mastering the material. Scoring consistently in the 70% to 80% range gives you the best chance of passing the exam on the first try. We suggest limiting the number of attempts so you don’t memorize questions without learning the material. Our data shows that the most successful students test in Exam Mode no more than 5 times. Higher numbers of attempts do not improve performance.

You can continue to test in Exam Mode even after you have qualified for and received your certificate of completion.

To provide the most accurate assessment of your knowledge and exam readiness, a Focused Exam can only be generated based on a completed Exam Mode attempt.

To log in to your ExamFX course:

• Click the "User Login" link at the top of the ExamFX website.
• Enter the email address and password associated with your account to complete your login. 
• If you do not know your password, click the “Forgot Password?” button and you will be sent an email with password reset instructions. 

To log in to ExamSimulator:

• Visit www.examsimulator.com.
• If you have a Product Code, click here to register the code and create a Username and Password. Only fill in the code, and click Register. (We’ll collect your email address later.)
• If you have already registered your Product Code and created a Username and Password, log in here.

During the enrollment process, the shipping address entered is validated through two databases to ensure it is a valid, deliverable address. Should the address entered fail the validation, it most likely is not recognized in the database as a deliverable address. If you are encountering errors please contact Customer Service. Once you have completed your enrollment, if you need to correct or update your address please contact Customer Service.

Passwords must be minimum of 8 characters in length and include these minimum requirements:

• 1 upper case letter (ABC)
• 1 lower case letter (abc)
